PRAY IN THE PRESENT

We don’t need to pray about future decisions because right now is the place you will always find God. Remember according to Hebrew 11:1 that, “Now faith is”! If it is not now it is not a prayer that needs immediate attention. If it does not need immediate attention it is better to use a confession of faith. A good confession of faith like, “My wise heart discerneth both time and judgement” according to Ecclesiastes 8:11 will work just fine. Confessions about God’s wisdom concerning your life will bring forth future revelations about things to come. Simply put a word of wisdom is a word about the future. When you know something specific about your future then you can plan accordingly but we should not seek a lot of details about the future because we trust that our future is in God’s hands. Speak forth your future inline with God’s Word rather than questioning prayers to God about the future.

Pray in the Present and Confess God’s Word over your Future to keep God’s Word flowing forth from your heart to your mouth bringing good things (God’s Will) to past in your life continuously.

When praying to God your prayer should be based on some current knowledge because how can you seek God for the perfect answer if you don’t have a specific question. Many people have questions about the future but you should plan your future generally and be prepared to handle any present need specifically. Stay in the now because the Now is the chosen time frame where faith abides according to 1 Corinthians 13:13. We also see this type of present tense thinking recorded in Matthew 6:33,34

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. KJV

This verse 34 in Matthew confirms the fact that our mind should be in tune with the present tense, basically things going on in our life right now. Wisdom dictates that a well informed decision yields a more quality decision, because it is based on more knowledge of the current issues. The more time goes by the more historical data is gathered, thus the better (easier) it is to make a quality decision at the appropriate time. Many times people say, “If I had only known then what I know now I would not of made that same decision.” Angela and I have made that statement several times in our life. Praying in the Present is a principle of God and a good foundation for praying in general. This principle holds true for the prayer of faith to believe you received any promise of God found inside of His Holy Word in Jesus Name.

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. KJV - Mark 11:22-24

So if we Pray in the Present based upon the information we know it will be obvious to us exactly what we need to do today. When we master each day, by overcoming one day at a time our future has no choice but to be bright in the Light of Christ Jesus. Amen!
